Picknick

With “Frühstück im Grünen” (The Luncheon on the Grass) (1863) Édouard Manet has quoted a painting by Giorgione (Rural Concert, around 1510). With “Picknick” (Picnic) Ottmar Hörl is quoting Manet. His suitcase stillife containing synthetic turf is made for people who have a certain yearning for a Sunday trip to the country side, but have either time nor desire to get into contact with the real nature. A  glance into the briefcase will cover the soul´s daily need for green.
