The portrait pin appeared at the “Irene Andessner – Frauen zu Salzburg” [Women of Salzburg] exhibition in the Museum Carolino Augusteum (today: Museum Salzburg). For this exhibition the artist produced self-portraits after historical portraits of famous Salzburg woman: Mozart’s widow Constanze, Mozart’s sister Nannerl, “Hundsgräfin” [hound countess] Emilia Viktoria Kraus, painter Barbara Krafft and empress Caroline Auguste. As widow of Emperor Franz I the Habsburg empress lived mainly in Salzburg, where she was highly popular on account of her social involvement.
